One week after moving to the Samsung Galaxy S from an iPhone 4 I thought I’d share my 5 favourite Android Apps…
1. Swype
This is the future of text entry on mobile devices, tech sites such as CNET, Engadget and Distilled’s Will Critchlow all harmoniously agree. It takes T9 recognition to the next level, you simply drag your finger over the letters in a word and it appears in the message, no need to add in spaces, it does it for you. Really, really impressive stuff.

Take a look at the official Swype website for more information or take a look at this YouTube demo video
2. Twitter (the official Android app)
Super fast to load and update and lovely on the eye the official twitter app is a real pleasure to use. The initial load screen provides signposts to the latest tweets, mentions, directs, lists, retweets and your profile. The really nice touch is the slightly animated twitter bird at the bottom of app highlighting the current trending topics.

3.Evernote
Described as ‘turning your Android phone into an extension of your brain.’ the Evernote App lets you remember and recall anything that happens in your life. From notes to ideas to snapshots to recordings, this great app allows you to put everything into Evernote and watch as it all instantly synchronizes from your phone to the Web to your PC.

More information about Evernote (Free) can be found at AppBrain.
4. FeedR
If you’re an RSS junkie like me, FeedR will satify your RSS craving. I’ve set the app to sync with my Google Reader account which allows my to get the latest information on the move or at my desktop. Being able to read the post within the FeedR reader saves jumping in and out of the browser and makes RSS consumption hugely enjoyable.

5. DroidAnalytics
Despite a lack on updates this is still the best Google Analytics app on the Android platform. Once your logged in you get straight into a summary of views, visits, visitors for the last 30 days. The simple UI combined with the convenience of accessing your web stats anywhere and everywhere make this a really useful app.

I really like NewsRob Pro for Google Reader, possibly the best $4 I have ever spent.
How are you getting on with the Samsung? The range of accessories look impressive.
The Galaxy S is a superb device, my only gripe is with the battery life. 24 hours at max, it’s like having a 3GS again
I’m hoping that Android 2.2 will improve things.
